Mary Ellen Brennan Offer joined the Firm in July 2007.  Her practice encompasses commercial transactions and business advice along with employment, labor and benefit law matters for companies and individuals.  Her warm personal style and meticulous attention to detail instills confidence in her clients and has helped build her stellar reputation.  Throughout her career, Ms. Offer has counseled national, multi-national, local and regional businesses.  She is experienced in most aspects of commercial transactions, including major acquisitions and divestitures with the related due diligence, the purchase/sale and start-up of businesses, negotiation and drafting of real estate documents, leases and other contracts, and also in providing advice and handling of administrative legal matters, drafting of employment related agreements and policies and in litigation management, mediation and settlements.

Before joining Beattie Padovano, Ms. Offer had a 30+ year legal career with The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, Inc. where she was a corporate vice president and assistant corporate secretary having last served as its Chief Legal Officer.  She is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association (Corporate and Business Law and Labor & Employment Law and Sections) and the Bergen County Bar Association.  She is a past member of the American Bar Association, the American Corporate Counsel Association, the Benefit Counsel Discussion Group, the American Society of Corporate Secretaries (ASCS) and the Equal Employment Advisory Council (EEAC), and she is a past director of EEAC and member of its Executive Committee.

Ms. Offer received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1973, with one year at New York University School of Law. She earned her B.A. at the College of New Rochelle in 1970.  She is admitted to practice in the New Jersey & New York State courts, the U.S. District Courts, in New Jersey and Eastern District of New York, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States.
