Beattie Padovano Obtains Complete Defense Verdict following Jury Trial over Middle East Distribution Dispute

October 2, 2026

Beattie Padovano secured a complete defense verdict on behalf of a leading hair care company in a commercial dispute tried before a Bergen County jury.

In Bristol International Ltd. v. Agadir International, LLC, Docket No. BER-L-5811-24, the plaintiff, a sales representative, asserted claims for breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and tortious interference, seeking seven figures in damages based principally on its contention that it held an exclusive distributorship covering Saudi Arabia and the broader Middle East.

Following a trial on the merits, the jury rendered a complete defense verdict in favor of Agadir International, LLC, entirely rejecting the plaintiff’s claims and eliminating the substantial damages exposure asserted against Agadir International, LLC.

Beattie Padovano’s trial team consisted of Martin R. Kafafian, Matthew Ross, and Demetria Bogosian Fable.

The matter presented significant commercial issues concerning the scope and nature of the parties’ relationship, including the plaintiff’s claimed rights to exclusive distribution based on an implied-in-fact contract in an important international market. The firm’s trial team developed and presented a focused defense addressing the plaintiff’s contractual and related claims and successfully obtained a complete defense verdict for the client.

The result reflects Beattie Padovano’s commitment to sophisticated advocacy in complex commercial disputes, particularly matters involving substantial financial exposure and business relationships extending across international markets.
