Martin (Marty) Kafafian is Beattie Padovano's Co-Managing Member and Chair of the firm’s Commercial Real Estate & Leasing group. His practice focuses on commercial real estate, banking and corporate law nationally.

Marty counts among his clients Fortune 500 companies, national and regional retailers, real estate developers, supermarkets and department stores. He has provided counsel in a broad spectrum of matters that include financing, leasing, subleasing, sale-leasebacks, acquisition and disposition of properties and the structuring and implementation of complex real estate transactions. In addition, he has been involved with the development of major real estate projects and the acquisition and disposition of real estate properties and portfolios. 

Marty is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). He has conducted a workshop and led roundtables at ICSC's law conferences. He is a Trustee for the HackensackUMC Foundation. He is also a Trustee for the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey (“CIANJ”) and Co-Chair for their Real Property Roundtable Forum. He also previously served as Counsel, Chairman and Vice Chairman to CIANJ and as President of the Greater Montvale Business Association.

Marty joined Beattie Padovano in 1983. He was elected to the partnership in 1986 and served as Managing Member from 2001 through 2023. His awards and honors for his civic accomplishments include the CIANJ Chairman's Outstanding Leadership Award in 2009 and the Good Scout Award from the Northern New Jersey Council for the Boy Scouts of America in 2005.
