Shkelqim (Jim) Pilinci is an associate in the Firm’s Litigation Department He focuses his practice on corporate and commercial matters, with an emphasis on shareholder, partnership and corporate governance disputes, trade secret and competition suits, real estate litigation, contract disputes, estate litigation, employment litigation, arbitration and other complex business disputes. Before joining the Firm, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Linda Grasso Jones, J.S.C., Superior Court, Monmouth County in 2021-2022.
Prior to attending law school, Jim was the General Manager of a manufacturer. In that role, he oversaw the purchasing, manufacturing, wholesale, and retail aspects of the business. He leverages the lessons he learned to better understand the business goals and day-to-day operations of his clients.
Jim graduated from Touro University Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center with honors. During law school, he was a member of the Touro Law Review and the Moot Court Honors Board. He graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from American University and his Master of Arts in Political Science from the Catholic University of America.
Jim is in training to compete in the western performance horse sport of Reining.

- Represented a real estate company in a New Jersey Spill Compensation and Control Act action relating to contamination of commercial real estate in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division.
- Represented a non-profit focused on promoting conservation of open spaces in connection with a successful motion to dismiss in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and a motion to remand back to the Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division.
- Represents a limited liability company in a quiet title/adverse possession action relating to multiple commercial properties in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Nassau County.
- Represented the developer of a niche alcoholic beverage concept in trade secret misappropriation and related claims against a leading competitor in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Complex Business Litigation Program.
- Represented a commercial landlord in a breach of lease agreement against a privately owned, multi-brand dining, hospitality, entertainment, and gaming corporation relating to refusal to pay agreed upon lease fees in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
- Represented shareholders in a series of litigations before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the New York Supreme Court, Commercial Division, concerning breach of fiduciary duty and related corporate mismanagement wherein the shareholders seek disgorgement under New York’s Faithless Servant Doctrine of cash compensation and a valuable option from the subject LLC’s chief executive
- Represented a privately owned corporation, which specializes in the repair of energy-generating jet turbines in a breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, civil conspiracy and misappropriation of inventory action in Superior Court of New Jersey, Chancery Division.
- Represented an award-winning credit card payment solutions limited liability company in a shareholder dispute concerning the misappropriation of profits in Arbitration under the Commercial Arbitration Rules for Large, Complex Commercial Disputes of the American Arbitration Associations with New York state law applied substantively.
- Represented a Fortune 500 car rental company in a New York City lease litigation.
- Represented a manufacturer and wholesaler of industrial marking pens and devices in litigation concerning a misappropriation of trade secrets and violation of the Lanham Act and Sherman Act by former employees and business competitors in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
- Represented a leading beauty contract manufacturer in an action before the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Commercial Division in connection with claims of breach of promissory notes and breach of a manufacturing agreement.
- Represented members of a limited liability company, both individually and derivatively, in a shareholder dispute action in Supreme Court in the State of New York, Nassau County, Commercial Division.
- Represented at trial a member of multiple limited liability companies in a shareholder dispute in Supreme Court in the State of New York, Rockland County concerning the management and ownership of New York City commercial real estate.
