Steven (Steve) Weisfeld is a member in the firm's Commercial Real Estate & Leasing practice. He focuses on commercial and residential real estate transactions. He regularly represents both buyers and sellers of real estate properties including but not limited to retail properties, shopping centers, apartment buildings and vacant land. He also has extensive experience in representing tenants and landlords in retail and office leases. His practice include assisting a major retailer in various warehouse transactions and representing anchor tenants, restaurants, franchisees and other retailers in lease negotiations.
Steve is a member of the bar associations of New Jersey and Bergen County. He has served on the Environmental Committee and is on the Board of Advisors of the Commercial Lease Law Insider. He has for many years been a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and has conducted workshops and roundtable discussions at several ICSC conferences. He has also presented before the Hudson-Bergen Inn of Transactional Counsel and in conjunction with the Foundation for Free Enterprise educational programs. Throughout his career, he has authored and contributed to many publications related to real estate matters including articles on well-testing, asbestos issues, clean-up cost liabilities flowing from product sales and fixtures. He was also cited in the articles entitled "Narrow Scope of Tenant’s Self-Help Right" in the February 2014 issue of Commercial Lease Law Insider and "Are Medical Tenants Right for Your Space?" in its October 2014 issue.
